Company History

On January 1993, the Yap brothers ventured into brand new sector of the car industry. With its long history in the automotive industry, particularly in the heavy equipment sector, Nissan Motor Philippines Incorporated, the manufacturer and importer on Nissan passenger vehicles, appointed Nissan Distributors, Incorporated (NCDI), a non-exclusive right and privilege to purchase and re-sell Nissan passenger car products and services in the island of Cebu, Bohol, Tacloban,Catbalogan, Samar and Leyte. With the said dealership agreement, Nissan Cebu penetrated the market in its territory to establish the presence and brand image of Nissan.

Subsequently, in 1996, Universal Motors Corporation (UMC), the manufacturer and importer of Nissan commercial vehicles, granted similar rights to purchase and re-sell Nissan commercial vehicle products and services in the same territory.

At the helm of Mr. Peter A. Yap, he brought the image of Nissan in Cebu to a new height. In 1997, Nissan Cebu permanently moved to its showroom and service center located in M.L. Quezon Avenue, Maguikay,Mandaue City such that quality of service and operations will be enhanced. Set in a total land area of 5072 sqm with a showroom area of 816sqm;service area 4050sqm; parts area, 235 sqm.

The facilities and equipment used are state of the art which includes an USI Italia Paint Booth (Oven), Devilviss Paint Booth, Computerized Paint Mixer, Lifters, Automated Wheel Aligner and others.

Moreover, he has brought Nissan Cebu to a new location such that Nissan can be more accessible to the Boholanos. The first branch of Nissan Cebu was opened last April 2011 at Carlos P. Garcia, Avenue, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, equipped with a complete showroom and service center. In addition, support in terms of product availability, parts availability and marketing support are all integral in the overall operation of Nissan Cebu. With the relationship established with Nissan Motor Philippines and Universal Motors Corporation, we are indeed privileged.
